
Hesdin is a charming and historic market town with good shops and restaurants, cafes and bars.
The town boasts a fine central square and an ancient Flemish style town hall with a carillon, which marks the hours.
We would recommend the restaurant ‘L’Ecurie’ which serves a variety of dishes and has a good wine list, all at reasonable prices. For bistro type dining, ‘La Belle Epoque’ is a very popular choice amongst residents and visitors alike.
There is a very good market every Thursday morning throughout the year. And an antique market (brocante) from time to time. There are also other events, including music and concerts. Information can be obtained from the very helpful tourist office (maison de tourisme) in the main square, where they speak English.
